Pivot North Architecture

Idaho Department of Agriculture Laboratory

The State of Idaho Department of Agriculture selected Pivot North Architecture to provide design services for the new diagnostic laboratory in Boise. Completed in Spring of 2022, the 18,500 square foot building provides laboratory and support spaces including; plant pathology, animal health, dairy, entomology, and necropsy. The building provides convenient sample delivery while maintaining security for staff.

The exterior design includes profiled metal wall and roof panel accents complimenting a mix of ground split face masonry veneers. The pollinator-specific and water-wise landscape attracts bees to the area while being a good neighbor to the nearby Idaho Botanical Gardens. The design team worked with the department to define a unique look paying homage to the Agriculture Industry.
