Marcus Johnson
Project Designer
Growing up in Seattle, Washington, Marcus dreamed of expansive skies and majestic mountains, which led him to the University of Colorado for his Master of Architecture degree. Over the last 10 years he has had the opportunity to practice architecture in the Mountain West, Midwest, North East and South. Across these professional roles, he has contributed to a collective understanding of the importance of building design that is sensitive to place as well as clients’ needs. Marcus’ specialized work on higher education projects has given him the opportunity to develop a wide range of skillsets across many project types of varying scale and complexity from inclusive restrooms to 1,500 bed living & learning communities, as well as experience in mixed use and office buildings. He believes that it is important to make sure that all stakeholders in a project are heard and he works hard to build a collaborative and comfortable environment where clearly defined goals for success can be achieved.
Outside of the office Marcus enjoys being outside and embracing each season from camping, hiking and mountain biking in the warmer months to skiing and winter hut trips with his wife and two young children.
